Shipping Policy

Effective date: 2026-05-21

This Shipping Policy describes how TungArc handles international shipping of electrical contact components and related products to B2B customers worldwide. Shipping arrangements for any specific order are governed by the individual sales contract or purchase order; this policy provides general information that supplements those contract terms.

Scope

This policy applies to B2B international shipments of custom-manufactured electrical contact components, contact assemblies, and related materials. Shipping arrangements are agreed per order; this policy reflects our general practice.

Incoterms Supported

We support the following Incoterms (2020) for international shipments:

  • EXW (Ex Works): Buyer arranges freight from our facility / nominated point. Buyer is responsible for all export procedures, freight, insurance, customs, and import duties.
  • FOB (Free On Board): We deliver the goods to a major Chinese port (typically Shanghai, Ningbo, or Qingdao depending on the order) and clear the goods for export. Buyer arranges sea freight, insurance, and import procedures.
  • CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight): We arrange sea freight and marine insurance to the destination port. Buyer handles customs clearance and import duties at the destination.
  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): We arrange freight to the buyer's facility including freight, insurance, customs clearance, and import duties. Available for select destinations; subject to confirmation per order.

For air freight, DDP and similar all-inclusive terms are available for express shipments where lead time matters more than freight cost.

The choice of Incoterm affects total cost, customs handling, and risk allocation. We discuss the best fit for your order during quoting.

Lead Time

Lead time depends on the product complexity, material grade, plating requirements, surface treatments, and order volume. Standard catalog items typically have shorter lead time than custom-designed parts. Lead times are confirmed in writing per order; we do not commit to specific lead times based on website content.

For time-sensitive orders, discuss your target delivery during the quoting process. Expedited production and air freight options are available for urgent requirements.

Packaging

Standard packaging for industrial export:

  • Inner packaging: Components individually wrapped or compartment-packed to prevent abrasion and surface damage during transit
  • Outer packaging: Cardboard cartons for small orders; wooden crates for larger shipments
  • Wood packaging materials: Compliant with ISPM 15 (heat-treated and stamped wood) for international shipments to countries requiring this standard
  • Pallet handling: Heavier orders palletized for forklift handling and container loading efficiency

Specialized packaging (vacuum sealing for moisture-sensitive items, custom export crates for high-value shipments, marine-grade packaging for extended sea freight) is available on request. Specify packaging requirements during the order process.

Insurance

For CIF and DDP shipments, freight insurance is included in our shipping cost. The standard insurance coverage is marine cargo insurance per Institute Cargo Clauses (A) for ocean freight or equivalent air cargo insurance for air shipments.

For EXW and FOB shipments, the buyer is responsible for arranging freight insurance from the point of risk transfer (per the Incoterm). We strongly recommend buyers carry adequate cargo insurance for all international shipments.

Customs and Import

Customs procedures depend on the Incoterm and the destination country. We provide standard export documentation for international shipments:

  • Commercial invoice: Detailing product description, quantity, value, and Incoterm
  • Packing list: Itemizing shipment contents by box / pallet / container
  • Certificate of Origin: Available on request for tariff classification purposes
  • HS codes: Applied per the destination country's tariff schedule

For destinations requiring additional documentation (FORM E for some Asian destinations, EUR.1 for EU preferential origin, certificates of conformity for regulated markets), discuss requirements during the order process.

Import duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees at the destination are typically the buyer's responsibility (except under DDP). We can provide estimates of expected duties for some destinations during quoting, but final duty calculations are determined by the destination country's customs authorities.

Tracking and Communication

Once shipped, we provide:

  • Shipment notification: Sent by email with carrier name, tracking number, and expected delivery date
  • Tracking link or carrier reference: Sufficient information to track the shipment through the carrier's system
  • Estimated arrival updates: For longer ocean shipments, periodic updates if requested

For shipments where delivery confirmation is critical, we can arrange delivery confirmation services through the carrier.

Delivery Times

International shipping transit times vary by destination and mode:

  • Air freight: Typically 3–10 days to most major international destinations
  • Sea freight (Asia to North America): Typically 14–30 days depending on port pair and routing
  • Sea freight (Asia to Europe): Typically 25–45 days depending on routing
  • Sea freight (Asia to other regions): Varies by route and frequency of available sailings

These ranges are general guidance and depend on shipping conditions, carrier schedules, and customs clearance at the destination. Specific transit time estimates are provided per order.

Damage and Loss During Transit

For shipments under our control (CIF and DDP terms), we file insurance claims for damage or loss occurring during transit covered by the marine cargo insurance. Buyer should:

  • Inspect the shipment upon arrival
  • Document any visible damage with photos before fully accepting delivery
  • Report damage or loss to the carrier and to us within a reasonable time (typically 7 days from arrival)
  • Retain damaged goods and packaging until the claim is resolved

For EXW and FOB shipments, damage and loss claims are handled by the buyer's insurer per the buyer's own coverage.

Export Restrictions

We comply with applicable export control regulations. Certain destinations or end-uses may require export licenses or be restricted under Chinese export control law or international sanctions. We screen orders for compliance and may decline orders we cannot legally fulfill.

Returns of Shipped Goods

Returns of shipped goods are governed by the Returns Policy, available at www.tungarc.com/en/returns-policy/.
