CuW Arc Contact Pair (Static + Moving Set)
This product is sold as a paired set, one static arc contact plus one moving arc contact, matched in grade, dimensions, and lot.
Technical Description
CuW Arc Contact Pair (Static + Moving Set)
This product is sold as a paired set — one static arc contact plus one moving arc contact — matched in grade, dimensions, and lot. For VCB OEMs building new breakers or service companies refurbishing complete contact assemblies, ordering the pair simplifies sourcing and ensures the two halves work together cleanly.
If you only need one half (replacement of one side, in-house pairing with existing parts, etc.), order the CuW Static Arc Contact or CuW Moving Arc Contact separately. This listing exists for sourcing the matched pair as a single line item.

Applications
- New VCB builds at 12 kV, 24 kV, and 40.5 kV requiring complete contact pair sourcing
- VI refurbishment programs replacing both halves of the contact pair at once
- Sub-suppliers building vacuum interrupter assemblies for VCB OEMs
- Single-line-item sourcing for service contracts that prefer pair-level orders
Technical Notes
The two halves of an arc contact pair work as a system. Geometry, grade, and surface finish all matter on both sides; mismatching grades between static and moving (e.g. CuW70 static + CuW80 moving) is technically possible but uncommon and rarely beneficial — the harder side wears the softer side faster than expected.
When we ship the pair, both contacts come from the same material lot. For VCB OEMs with traceability requirements, this means one material certification covers both halves of the pair. For refurbishment programs, ordering the pair ensures the replacement contacts have consistent properties on day one.
For new VCB designs, supply the drawing for both halves together; we can confirm dimensional compatibility before machining. For replacement of installed contacts, send samples of both halves if possible — minor wear-pattern asymmetry on the original parts can affect the replacement geometry.
Sourcing & OEM
Custom-machined to your pair drawing is routine. Plating, MOQ, and lead time vary by specification; contact us with the drawing or samples for a project-specific quote.
Technical FAQ
Common questions about this product.
Can I order only the static or only the moving contact?
Yes, but not from this listing, see CuW Static Arc Contact or CuW Moving Arc Contact for single-side orders. This page is specifically for matched-pair sourcing.
Are both halves the same CuW grade?
Yes by default. Mixed-grade pairs are technically possible but uncommon; specify in your order if your design uses different grades on each side.
What does "matched pair" mean for traceability?
Both halves come from the same material lot, so one material certification covers the pair. This simplifies QC documentation for VCB OEMs with lot-level traceability requirements.
Can you supply complete contact assemblies (CuW + carrier)?
Yes. We can braze CuW arc contacts onto copper or bronze carriers in-house, then ship the complete assembly. Specify the carrier drawing along with the CuW geometry.
What is the typical lead time for a contact pair?
Lead time varies by grade, dimensions, plating, and order volume. Contact us with your specifications for a project-specific timeline.
How do I request a sample pair for evaluation?
Email [email protected] with drawings for both halves (or samples of the existing parts) and intended VCB program. Evaluation pair samples can typically be arranged for serious sourcing programs.
