Technical Description
MV Static Contact Assembly
MV static contact assembly is a complete sub-assembly including the static contact element, mounting hardware, and supporting components, supplied as a single unit for MV switchgear OEMs who prefer to source the static contact side as a complete module rather than assembling component-by-component.
For just the static contact element, see MV Switchgear Static Contact. For 630A-specific static contacts, see Static Contact 630A. For arc-exposed static contacts, see CuW Static Arc Contact.

Applications
- Static contact sub-assembly for new MV VCB builds at 12 / 24 / 40.5 kV
- Drop-in replacement assemblies for refurbishment programs
- Sub-supply to MV switchgear OEMs sourcing the static side as a complete module
- Specialty static contact assemblies for non-standard switchgear builds
Technical Notes
For OEMs sourcing the static contact as a complete sub-assembly, the per-part-number QC is simpler than component-by-component qualification: one part number covers the contact element, the mounting interface, and the supporting hardware. For service / refurbishment, replacing the complete sub-assembly is often easier than rebuilding the static contact from components in the field.
The assembly's mounting interface, bolt pattern, locating features, electrical termination, has to match the switchgear cabinet design. For new OEM programs, supply the cabinet interface drawing along with the contact spec; we'll match the assembly to fit. For refurbishment, supply the original drawing or sample of the assembly being replaced.
For arc-resistant variants, the static contact element can have a pre-brazed CuW tip while the rest of the assembly is standard. Specify the CuW grade and tip geometry along with the assembly drawing.
Sourcing & OEM
Custom MV static contact assemblies to your drawing are routine. Specify the contact material, mounting hardware, plating, and any CuW tip requirements; contact us for a project-specific quote.
Technical FAQ
Common questions about this product.
What's the difference between this and the static contact element listings?
This is a complete sub-assembly, contact element plus mounting hardware plus supporting components, supplied as one part number. The other listings (MV Switchgear Static Contact, Static Contact 630A) are for just the contact element. Order this when you want a complete drop-in module; order the elements when you assemble in-house.
Can the assembly include CuW arc-resistant tips?
Yes. CuW tips on the static contact element of an otherwise standard assembly are routine. Specify the CuW grade and tip geometry.
Can you produce to a specific MV switchgear OEM's assembly drawing?
Yes. Send the drawing or sample with your inquiry; we'll confirm feasibility and quote.
What mounting hardware is included?
Depends on the assembly drawing: typically the mounting bracket, fasteners, and any locating pins or insulating spacers. Specify what's in scope for your assembly.
What is the typical lead time?
Lead time varies by assembly complexity, materials, and quantity. Contact us with your specifications.
